Data Visualization

Summer is prime-time to see a Broadway show in New York City. With that comes millions of dollars of income for productions on Broadway.

In the summer of 2019 the musicals running on Broadway accumulated a gross of $484,144,240 with a total attendance of nearly 4 million patrons. The show with the highest attendance was Wicked with 256,272 patrons. The show with the highest gross was Hamilton with $52,033,201.

Over the summer 7 shows closed their curtains while one show opened theirs. Most notably there was an electrical blackout causing all shows to cancel their Saturday evening performance on July 13th which caused a massive loss in sales.
